SyncExpress is our suite of synchronization products. SyncExpress is a
ready-to-ship wireless middleware layer for one-step synchronization of content between multiple
information sources including Personal Digital Assistants, laptops, and cell phones, which
makes management of information on mobile devices seamless. SyncExpress’ SyncML
implementation (part of version 1.2 released end of July 2001) makes it one of the first Bluetooth products
to offer this feature in the world. Product certification from the SyncML initiative is
expected shortly.
SyncExpress’ middleware positioning is unique as it allows protocol stack vendors to add
application (upper level) stack functionality, such as synchronization, to their stack. This
middleware approach also allows application software vendors to add wireless functionality to their
applications. As applications are expected to drive the adoption of wireless technologies, we
expect existing as well as new applications to offer wireless functionality, especially
synchronization. In summary, SyncExpress offers wireless functionality that both lower-level
stack providers as well as higher-level application vendors can integrate into their products.
SyncExpress is available for use on servers (Server Edition) as well as on handheld devices
(Client Edition).
