| Asian Age, Bangalore & Chennai April 10, 2001 -- Wireless Digital Communications, a Bangalore based wireless solution provider has launched SyncExpress and SpaceBridge to enable the wireless markets. The company will market its products in Europe and US by mid-2001, director and chief executive officer, WDC Solutions Ltd, Manju S Murthy told reporters on Monday. “The wireless market has enormous potential for growth and scope of its utility in integrating applications of various mobile devices. Bluetooth is the key to making wireless more vibrant. WDC will work with Bluetooth protocol for developing complete applications for the wireless market,” Mr Murthy said. WDC has developed SpaceBridge, a protocol host stack enabling wireless connection between devices like laptops, PDAs, LAN access points, digital cameras and handsets. The product will implement multiple protocol specifications including Bluetooth and Home Radio Frequency specifications. SpaceBridge will offer interoperability between stacks from different vendors. SyncExpress developed by WDC will provide one-step wireless synchronization of content between multiple information sources including laptops, notebooks, PDAs, desktop PCs and cellular phones. The wireless devices can synchronize data transparently when they are within the range of each other through SyncExpress. The protocols supported include Bluetooth, HomeRF and
IrDA. “Our focus will be to be the leading solution providers for personal area network devices. We are in talks with third party vendors to provide application integration of the products. We expect Bluetooth enabled mobile phones to be available in the Indian market by end 2001. WDC will leverage its expertise in Bluetooth to cater to this market.” Mr Murthy added. WDC will increase the strength of its core operational team to 100 employees by the year-end. The company expects 30 percent of its revenues from its products segment. |
